• Organically bound tritium (OBT) has become of increased interest within the last decade, with a focus on its behavior and also its analysis, which are important to assess tritium distribution in the environment. In contrast, there are no certified reference materials and no standard analytical method through the international organization related to OBT.
  • In order to resolve this issue, the 1st International Workshop on OBT and its analysis was organized by CEA and AECL and held in Balaruc les Bains, France from 21st to 24th May, 2012.
  • The 2nd OBT Workshop – Research, analysis and inter-comparison results – was organized through collaboration between the CEA, AECL and GAU. The Workshop took place in Southampton (United Kingdom), between the 22nd and the 24th of September, 2013.
  • The 3rd OBT Workshop was organized by AECL and CEA in Ottawa, Canada from 15th to 18th September 2014.
  • The 4th OBT Workshop was organized by the SN Nuclearelectrica – CNE Cernavoda, in Bucharest, Romania, between August 31st and September 2nd 2015, followed by a technical visit to Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant on September 3rd.
  • The 5th OBT Workshop was organized by CEA and held in Le Mans, France, from 4th to 7th October 2016.
  • The 6th OBT Workshop – Research, analysis and inter-comparison results was organized by GAU and held in Winchester, UK, from 9th to 11th October 2017.
  • The 7th OBT Workshop was organized by CNL in Toronto, Canada from 24th to 27th September 2018.
  • The 8th OBT Workshop will be organized by the SN Nuclearelectrica – CNE Cernavoda, in Constanta, Romania, between 1st and 5th September 2019, including a technical visit to Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant.
